Watch: Drive-by shooting in Medical District hits two people

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Police are looking for individuals in a maroon sedan who opened fire Wednesday night in the Medical District, wounding two people and damaging at least two vehicles.

The Memphis Police Department released video of the shooting in the 100 block of North Manassas next to Morris Park and near a Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital parking garage.

In the video, you see the suspects firing shots from the driver and passenger side of the vehicle.

You can also see pedestrians on the sidewalk next to the park, ducking for cover behind some cars parked along the street.

A group of women told police they were standing in the parking lot of the Manassas Market & Deli across the street from Morris Park when a vehicle drove by, and someone started firing shots. The women said they all dropped to the ground.

One woman who was sitting in her car with her sister said when the shooting stopped, she realized her sister had been shot in the knee. Police said the same woman’s brother also showed up at the Regional One Medical Center with a gunshot wound to his upper right thigh. Both victims are expected to recover.

Police said they located two vehicles near the scene that bullets had hit multiple times.
