Quincy man injured when backhoe he was driving went into ditch along St. Anthony Road
QUINCY — A Quincy man was transported to Blessing Hospital on Thursday when a backhoe he was driving went into a ditch. Deputies with the Adams County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to a single-vehicle crash near 5205 W. St. Anthony Road. A Case Extendahoe 590 Super N, driven by Rogelio Mendez Gomez, 31, was eastbound on W. St. Anthony Road at approximately 2 p.m. Thursday, July 18, when he lost control and rolled the backhoe into a ditch on the north side of the road.

Man charged with theft from St. Peter School arraigned in Adams County Circuit Court
QUINCY — A former employee at St. Peter School in Quincy was admonished in Adams County Circuit Court during his arraignment on Wednesday morning. Kim L. Sandegren, 29, appeared with Public Defender Betsy Bier before Judge Holly Henze. He has been charged with two counts of theft of property exceeding $10,000 and not exceeding $100,000 in value. One of the counts is a Class 2 felony, punishable for between three and seven years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.
