Menominee's Tanner Theuerkauf collects AP All-State honors

MENOMINEE — Menominee’s Tanner Theuerkauf garnered Division 3 All-State honors in boys basketball from the Michigan Associated Press on Tuesday.

Theuerkauf was one of 10 players to be named an AP All-State Second Team selection after having received at least two First-Team votes from the panel of 15 sports writers.

In his sophomore season, the six-foot-three forward led the Maroons in scoring with 15.7 points per game while averaging 4.4 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.9 steals per game.

Theuerkauf was one of three hoopsters from the Upper Peninsula to capture All-State honors alongside Iron Mountain’s Oskar Kangas (First Team) and Jeffers’ Levi Frahm (Second Team).

Voters named Laingsburg’s Zander Woodruff the Division 3 Player of the Year and Nathan Knapp (Niles Brandywine) as Coach of the Year.
