    Some highlights from the NCAA's opening weekend:

    MIFFLIN COUNTY ALUMNI

    St. Vincent's Dakota Hershberger accounted for eight kills over the course of the Saint Vincent Bearcat Challenge, in which the Bearcats went 2-2.

    Kylee Cubbison finished seventh overall for Bowling Green as the Falcon's cross country team placed third in a field of 10 teams at Akron's Tommy Evans Invitational.

    Coletta Beeler started both games in goal, as Central Michigan's field hockey team got off to a 2-0 start with a 4-1 win over St. Louis and a 2-1 OT victory over Bellarmine.

    Lydia Hidlay and the Susquehanna defense held Franklin & Marshall scoreless in a 1-0 season-opening River Hawks' win.

    CJ Coffey (pictured) finished eighth overall, helping Juniata College to a second place finish at the Westmoreland-WCC Wolfpack Cross Country Invite.

    Justice Sheaffer placed 12th for the JC Eagle women at the same event.

    Kaylyn Walters scored a pair of goals for Juniata in the Eagles' 7-1 season-opening win over Allegheny.
