Meriden police block roads in connection to deadly shooting investigation

MERIDEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Meriden police say they have several main streets blocked off to traffic Tuesday afternoon due to an investigation related to a fatal shooting the night before.

Police confirmed the scene is connected to a dispute and shots fired incident that left a woman dead Monday evening on State Street.

As of 1 p.m. Tuesday, police have blocked off West Main Street at Colony Street to prevent traffic from moving west past the police station.

They said they would also block traffic from Colony Street up to Grove Street during the investigation.

Drivers are asked to avoid the area.
