This Meridian restaurant was planning a big bash. ‘Truly sorry,’ it’s closing instead

A Meridian restaurant planning a summer “grand reopening” party this month will close instead.

Deja Brew Bistro, 112 E. Idaho Ave., will shutter after a final day of service July 14.

The breakfast and lunch eatery, which has a liquor license, previously had announced that it would host a “Sailor Jerry Summer Rum Bash & Grand Reopening” on July 13 to celebrate its reinvention under new management. Highlights included live pin-up models and live music.

    But that event won’t happen.

Instead, Deja Brew revealed Friday on social media that the end had arrived — “after seven lovely years.”

“Due to this impending closure,” the restaurant added, “we have chosen to cancel our upcoming Sailor Jerry event. We are truly sorry for any inconvenience, and truly sorry we will no longer be able to host what would have been an incredible day.”

“... We will truly miss each and every one of you. This was a business that was not just that, but a place where staff gave their hearts, genuinely cared, and loved being here. Every one of us employed here at Deja Brew is deeply saddened by this conclusion, and we are all mourning the loss of this beautiful place, and taking in every last moment.

“With that said, we want to thank you all for coming in, supporting this small business and hope you will choose to be just as generous and welcoming to whatever business takes our place here on Main and Idaho Avenue.”
