    The Meridian Police Department responded to 144 total calls for service in April 2024, according to a recent report from Meridian Police Chief Cody Woosley.

    The police department's monthly report was presented to the Meridian City Council during its regular meeting on Monday, May 13, 2024.

    The calls for service included: assisting another agency – law enforcement, 7; assisting the public, 1; burglary alarm, 3; business check, 12; civil matter, 2; close patrol, 1; disturbance, 5; escort wide load, 1; follow up investigations, 10; fraud/scam, 2; juvenile issue, 1; neighborhood patrol, 4; officer assist, 1; public works related, 2; reckless driver, 4; school issues, 6; security checks, 3; sex offender verification, 4; suicidal subject, 1; suspicious person, 10; traffic enforcement, 18, traffic hazard, 1; vehicle maintenance, 1; and warrant service, 1.

    During April 2024, the department issued 23 reports, 25 warnings, and 14 citations.

    The reports included: assist other agency, 7; code (animals), 2; crash, 3; criminal trespass, 2; disturbance, 1; miscellaneous drug offenses, 1; theft, 1; fraud, 1; and suicidal subject, 1.

    The citations included: drug paraphernalia, 1; expired registration, 1; no insurance, 1; passing, 2; and theft, 1.

    The warnings included: defective equipment, 4; speeding, 20; and stop sign, 1.

    According to the code enforcement report, there were 19 calls for tall grass and miscellaneous junk, two calls about dogs at-large, four calls on noise and nuisances, and 10 calls for follow up.
