'Cockpit Close-Up' at Falcon Field Airport in Mesa Saturday

Falcon Field Airport in Mesa is coordinating with aircraft owners to host Cockpit Close-Up, a free community event 8-10 a.m. on the first Saturday of each month.

It features volunteer pilots based at Falcon Field and their private aircraft.

The next Cockpit Close-Up will be on May 4 at the airport terminal building, 4800 E. Falcon Drive in Mesa. This month’s featured pilot will be Dave Raper with his 2001 Robinson helicopter.

Falcon Field includes a total of 784 acres between Greenfield, Higley, McDowell and McKellips roads in northeast Mesa. There are currently more than 800 aircraft based at Falcon Field. This includes fixed-wing single- and multi-engine aircraft, turboprops, jets and helicopters, according to falconfieldairport.com.
