    Mesopotamia prepares for annual ox roast expected to draw thousands of visitors

    MESOPOTAMIA, Ohio (WKBN) – An event drawing thousands of visitors to northwestern Trumbull County kicks off Friday.

    The 51st annual Mesopotamia Ox Roast begins at 10 a.m. Friday.

    It features more than 160 vendors and live entertainment, plus the famous roast beef sandwiches.

    The three-day festival near the intersection of State Routes 534 and 87 attracts more than 20,000 people each day.

    All proceeds benefit the township’s fire department.
