SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ - On Wednesday, July 3rd, the South Plainfield Tiger Sharks hosted the Bridgewater YMCA Blue Dolphins in their first match-up of the season at the South Plainfield Community Pool. Once again, the Tiger Sharks brought a good number of swimmers to the meet with a total of 81, while the Blue Dolphins brought just 39. High School Spring Athletes Honored at Scotch Plains Council Meeting
SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- Athletes from the Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School spring season were honored by the Scotch Plains Township Council during its regular meeting on Tuesday, July 16. Proclamations honoring the high school's boys tennis, boys volleyball, and spring track teams were read by Councilman Matt Adams and Deputy Mayor Ellen Zimmerman. Batters Up Contest Hosted by Piscataway Elks Lodge 2414
PISCATAWAY, NJ - The Piscataway Elks Lodge #2414 swung into action and hosted the Elks Central District Batters Up competition at the Piscataway Little League Complex on Saturday, July 13. The Batters Up Contest is a hitting contest open to boys and girls ages 5-15 and is free. The Central District consists of Elks Lodges from Carteret, Colonia, East Brunswick, Edison, Metuchen, New Brunswick, Piscataway, South Amboy, South Plainfield, Watchung Hills and Woodbridge. The winners from Piscataway advancing to the NJ Elks State Batters Up Contest are Jace Payano, 5-6 year old boy and Isabella Huffsmith, 7-8 year old girl. The other 1st place winners advancing are from Edison, Metuchen and South Plainfield. Piscataway Elks Lodge #2414 will also be hosting a local Soccer Shoot to be held in September and a Hoop Shoot in late November/early December. More information to follow.
