Road closure
TROY — Part of Troy Sidney Road is expected to be closed from Wednesday morning, July 17, until Friday afternoon, July 19. Troy Sidney Road, between Nottinghill Lane and Woodhaven Lane — in the 2500 block of Troy Sidney Road, just west of the rail road bridge — will be closed from 8 a.m. Wednesday until 3 p.m. on Friday, said a press release from the Miami County Engineer’s Office.

Tickets available for Miami County in Bloom Garden Tour
TROY — Tickets are available for the 10th Miami County in Bloom Garden Tour that is presented by the Miami County Master gardener volunteers. “Enjoy the day touring six beautiful gardens located in Troy and Piqua,” said a press release from the Miami County in Bloom Garden Tour. “Our theme is ‘A Garden Is Music To The Earth!’ and live music will be featured at two of the gardens. You’ll see a variety of gardening styles including a whimsical outdoor gardening ‘man yard,’ formal gardens, and fun, casual spaces. You’re sure to find some interesting plants and great ideas for your own gardens! Each garden will also have local vendors on site sharing their creative talents and offering items for sale.”

MC Commissioners OK election preparation grants
TROY — The Miami County Commissioners acknowledged two grants for the county board of elections at their meeting on Tuesday, July 9. The first was a 2024 readiness grant from the secretary of state for $10,348. This grant will be used for election preparation, including the cost of programming the ballot and the creation of ballot proofs, paying seasonal staff to assist with conducting logic and accuracy testing.
