LINK: Miami Boating Safety Symposium Saturday

With a holiday week knocking on our door, the City of Miami wants to make sure boaters are doing it safely.

The Police, Fire Rescue, Florida Fish and Wildlife and the Coast Guard all teaming up with the Mayor tomorrow to host a boating safety symposium at City Hall.

"We wanted to have this initiative before the Fourth of July so those people that don't know the do's and don'ts can already be prepared, and each person that's trained will receive a certificate," says city spokesperson Kenia Fallat.

Following a safety discussion inside City Hall, participants will head outside to learn how to use a fire extinguisher, preform CPR and react to an emergency.
