Teofimo Lopez continues his U.S. takeover as he defends the WBO and Ring super lightweight titles in Miami against Steve Claggett .
Lopez is a former unified lightweight champion. Since losing the belts against George Kambosos Jr. in 2021, "The Takeover" has gone 4-0. He beat Josh Taylor to win the WBO and Ring super lightweight titles in New York. The 26-year-old has beat Jamaine Ortiz in Las Vegas, and he now heads to Miami, where his family relocated to from Brooklyn when he was a kid.
Claggett presents a challenge as a former NABF super lightweight champion with over 20 wins via knockout. The 34-year-old went 4-0 in 2023 and looks to go 2-0 in 2024 as he fights for world title gold for the first time.
