It has been an uneventful offseason for the Miami Heat thus far. Despite having been linked to multiple big-name players in free agency, General Manager Pat Riley just hasn't been able to work his magic this summer.

The tide turned in Miami's favor on Saturday night, though, after making a massive announcement regarding Bam Adebayo. The Heat have successfully negotiated a new deal with the three-time All-Star, which will keep Adebayo in South Beach for the foreseeable future.

This is a major development for the Heat, who have now made their intention to move forward with Adebayo as their cornerstone star abundantly clear.

Apart from the fact that this is a max contract extension, further details of the deal have yet to be disclosed. However, in a previous report by NBA league insider Shams Charania, it was revealed that the extension is expected to be in the range of $166 million for three years:

As the above tweet indicates, Adebayo's new deal extends through 2029, which means that the 26-year-old will be the centerpiece of Miami's core for the foreseeable future.
