Scary Scene at Copa America Championship in Miami

The Copa America Tournament has been one of the more up-and-down, drama-invested tournaments in recent memory, but it took a turn for the worse Sunday night at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida, prior to the Argentina-Colombia Championship match.

The game had to be delayed due to fans breaching the front gates of the stadium, allowing thousands of people without tickets to enter. This caused ticket-holding fans to be stuck outside the gates in the scorching heat with some in need of assistance.

Copa America organizers released a statement:

'We announce that people who do not have tickets will not be able to enter the stadium. Only those who have purchased tickets will be able to enter the stadium once the gates are reopened."

The game is still scheduled to take place on Sunday evening. However, this is not a good look for the United States, one of the three 2026 World Cup host nations, especially after the tournament was already filled with controversies.
