Jodi Benson brought the character Ariel to life in the 1989 movie The Little Mermaid , bringing joy to kids everywhere. Now, decades later, her daughter Delaney Benson is doing the same, playing Ariel in a stage rendition while her mom proudly watched from the audience.
A fan shared a clip of Delaney and Benson at the show in Miami, with the unique stage adaptation including new songs and a live audience that plays more of a role in the show.
"Watching @Delaney Benson play Ariel and @Jodi Benson being the most supportive mom was honestly such an honor!!! So lucky to have been able to witness this š," read the caption.
The clip showed Delaney, in character, kneeling by her mother in the audience and starting to sing "Part of Your World." Another part of the video showed the end of the musical when Ariel is in her wedding dress. The crowd was cheering, with Benson spotted standing and filming in the audience, blowing Delaney a kiss.
"I thought the girl singing was Jody She looks and sounds just like her," wrote one fan in awe of the mom and daughter pair's resemblance and shared talent.

Delaney shared the clip on her Instagram Stories , adding text that said, "Heart is beaming."
In a post celebrating her casting, she shared photos of herself in The Little Mermaid outfits as a kid, writing, "hi, ariel š¤ the little girl inside of me is so joyous right now. I get to be my favorite lil mermaid all summer long!! come see us play mermaids in south miami š¤š§š»āāļø."
Her mother commented on the post, sharing a heartfelt message to her daughter that said, "I am totally speechless. I am so incredibly proud of you my sweet girlā¤ļø Ariel is now in your loving hands. I am so honored to pass the treasured dinglehopper onto you! I love you so muchšš§āāļø."
