First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?
The Miami Hurricanes have one of their easier schedules in recent memory, at least on paper, as UM avoids touted conference foes Clemson, NC State, SMU and North Carolina while playing no major out-of-conference program that had winning records in 2023. But that doesn’t mean the Canes won’t be tested in games on both sides of the ball. Today we are looking at the three most difficult offenses Miami will face this season.
Then there’s also the continuation of our Miami Hurricanes Player Performance Index series, and today we’re at No. 14 Tyler Baron. Can the transfer DE be a major disruptor across from Rueben Bain?
In recruiting?
We catch up with coveted 2026 5-star Reidsville (N.C.) tight end Kendre Harrison. Miami’s made a move with him to get into his top group, so find out all about that.
We also have an update with Milton (Fla.) Pace four-star IOL Grant Wise, the son of former Miami offensive lineman Ty Wise. Find out where the Canes fit in there.
There was the disappointing news last night that five-star DJ Pickett chose LSU over the Canes, and we had a story analyzing where his recruitment goes from here … with perhaps not all hope lost.
And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.
It’s hard to envision the offense not being explosive this year.
An OL that should be atleast as good as last years – maybe even better if Bell is able to earn the RT job and allow Maugioa to move inside. Carpenter is the question mark – but overall we should be deeper.
A proven stud workhorse in Martinez. If healthy, Fletcher is very good back himself. Allen is serviceable and hopefully they find a way to ulitize CJs speed.
WR may lack the future 1st pick outside guy but we have 3 guys in X, George, and Brown who have shown they can produce. Horton, Ray Ray, Trader, and Carr all have talent and will have chances to make plays.
TE is the only weak spot. Arroyo has physical talent but has never done anything. Arroyo seems to have special talent but he’s a true freshman nonetheless. Riley Williams hopefully has leveled up.
Lasty, we finally have a triggerman who can put it all together. Make plays with arms and legs and finds ways to make something out of nothing keeping his eyes downfield always. Cam Ward has done more with less, excited to watch him with a full arsenal of weapons.
This team has found a way to disappoint over the last 20 years but I’m struggling to see how they find a way to screw up this offense this year. No reason not to be a top 10 offense.
MIAMI HURRICANES QUOTE OF THE DAY
“That’s a great program and just a great place to be. I have a great relationship with the coaches as well. And my time down there, I wish it was longer. I had a lot of fun. I really think they can develop me there.”
