Dwyane Wade's Confident Statement About The Peak Of His Career

    By Cole Sullivan,

Miami Heat and NBA legend Dwyane Wade sat down with good friend Carmelo Anthony on his podcast “ 7PM in Brooklyn,” and Wade began breaking down the bulk of his career and how adaptable he became in accepting and embracing roles to help his team win.

Later, going into detail about the prime of his career, Wade stated that he felt like he was the one that was coming for Michael Jordan’s throne if injuries didn’t hold him back.

“When I had it, I had it. Before injuries, I was like, MJ, I’m coming for you. I thought I was coming for MJ; yeah, I’m going to be the greatest.” Wade said.

After a dominant collegiate career at Marquette, Wade carried that success into the NBA, becoming a three-time champion, 13-time all-star, making eight All-NBA teams, and averaging 22.0 points and 5.4 assists during his professional career.

Nonetheless, Wade was the definition of an adaptive teammate who stepped into whatever role was needed to help his team. He was “the guy” for many years for the Miami Heat, then needed to take a step back to bring in LeBron James and Chris Bosh, which led to two more championships. A conceus first ballot hall-of-famer and even better human being.
