The Los Angeles Dodgers made some key additions on Monday, but they're not necessarily done.

After trading for utility star Tommy Edman and reliever Michael Kopech, Los Angeles has improved its roster , but general manager Brandon Gomes is still pursuing deals to further strengthen the Dodgers' bullpen.

One available asset that would make the Los Angeles 'pen more formidable is Tanner Scott of the Miami Marlins.

The Athletic's Jim Bowden reported on Sunday that the Dodgers are among the teams still actively pursuing Scott with the trade deadline hours away.

Notably, the Marlins are expected to receive a bountiful return for Scott, especially given the haul that the newest member of the Philadelphia Phillies -- reliever Carlos Estévez -- awarded Estévez's seller the Los Angeles Angels.

"The Angels did extremely well in the Carlos Estévez trade, acquiring two potential future major-league starters from the Phillies," Bowden said. "The deal once again showed the strength of this seller’s market. I expect the Marlins to get a similar return for closer Tanner Scott, especially since the Orioles, Yankees and Dodgers remain three of the teams in trade talks with them."

With the price for Scott rising, how much will the Dodgers be interested in spending? Is there a price point at which Gomes will bow out of the sweepstakes for Scott, especially since Scott's other suitors are playing in the American League?

These are difficult questions to answer, but Gomes will surely be weighing his options tonight as he monitors the Scott situation unfolding.
