Oradell (N.J.) Bergen Catholic 2026 four-star defensive tackle Jermaine Kinsler , the younger brother of Miami junior offensive lineman Tommy Kinsler , has been on the Hurricanes’ campus more times than he can remember. But the No. 149 overall prospect in the On3 Industry Ranking didn’t visit Miami this past weekend just to see his older brother.

Jermaine, a 6-foot-5.5, 270-pound prospect, was back on Miami’s campus this past weekend for the Hurricanes’ end-of-summer recruiting cookout along with several dozen fellow top 2026 targets and most of Miami’s 2025 recruiting class. The Hurricanes’ staff marked Jermaine as an early target in next year’s class and has been in contact with the consensus four-star recruit, and the staff impressed him during his weekend stay.

“I love it,” Jermaine said of Miami. “I see that it’s really a family. My brother, he’s recruiting me and telling me everything (about Miami). It’s definitely a family.”

Tommy has spoken highly of the Hurricanes and helped Miami make a strong impression on his younger brother. The two have talked about playing together at the college level and have interest in playing for the same team, although Jermaine said it won’t make or break his decision when he eventually pulls the trigger. Jermaine visited Texas earlier this summer and swung by Rutgers shortly before his trip to Miami.

Texas and Rutgers have both impressed him. He’s still building relationships with prospective schools and tentatively hopes to commit “around this time next year.”

Jermaine also attended Miami’s end-of-summer cookout last July to spend time with his mother and brother and thinks the Hurricanes have something special in Coral Gables.

“(Tommy) always talks about how special of a place it is,” Jermaine said. “How coach (Alex) Mirabal , coach (Mario) Cristobal , how all of them are. I love it. It’s really different. The campus is beautiful. I loved it. It was good out there.”

He hopes to return for a game-day visit this fall.

    CaneSport’s Take

Miami will likely need to bring in a few defensive tackles in the 2026 class, and Jermaine looks like an obvious early candidate. He lives in New Jersey, and with his recruitment just taking off Miami will have a tremendous chance if the staff chooses to go all-in on his recruitment moving forward.
