Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa finally secured the bag last week, signing a deal worth $212.2 million across four years. That's music to the ears of his top target Tyreek Hill, who was absolutely ecstatic after the signal-caller put pen to paper.
"Cheetah" appeared on SiriusXM NFL Radio and made it clear that he was fired up to see Tagovailoa get rewarded considering all the adversity he faced over the last couple of years.
“Hearing his story about the different coaches that he went through and just everything that he had to hear and stuff like that, it builds up to just now of seeing him sign that big deal. Like, it was amazing. It was the best feeling ever . I feel like I signed the mother fu**ing deal,” Hill said.
“I was like, ‘Bro, congrats to you and your family.’ ‘Cause it was a lot of people that said they didn’t want you here in this building. But here you are finna’ sign this big-ass contract here in Miami, man. So it was the best thing ever.”
Tua will now make an AAV of $53.1 million. Hill has definitely benefited from Tagovailoa's presence under center as well, leading the NFL in 2023 with 1,799 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns.
The Dolphins have locked up their QB for the foreseeable future and he's got one hell of a target out wide in Hill. Everyone is happy in Miami as they look to make it past the Wild Card Round in 2024 for the first time since 2000.
