Biggest Question for Marlins After MLB Trade Deadline

The Miami Marlins (40-70) were the most active team leading into the 2024 MLB Trade Deadline. With essentially an entirely new farm system, and a Major League roster built only to grind their way to the end of the season, their eyes are firmly set on the future.

In a recent article for MLB.com , the staff weighed in on what each team's biggest question was after the 2024 MLB Trade Deadline. Here is what Christina De Nicola had to say about the Marlins:

"Of the 15 players Miami added to the system via eight trades, four of them already have made their big league debuts: infielders Connor Norby and Graham Pauley , right-hander Adam Mazur , and outfielder Kyle Stowers , who started in left and batted third on Wednesday in his Marlins debut. First baseman Deyvison De Los Santos and catcher Agustin Ramirez could be next. The sluggers are off to fast starts at Triple-A Jacksonville."

While the weight of the Marlins future now rests solely on the shoulders of the prospects brought in at the 2024 MLB Trade Deadline, there is no need for the Marlins to rush. 2024 is a lost season with the club 25 1/2 games back of the division lead, and 18 1/2 games back of a Wild Card spot with only 52 games left this season.

The Marlins will be better served to let their newly acquired prospects finish the season in Triple-A, getting as may reps as possible, before calling up those that are ready for the 2024 season which they hope will be much better than the one they have had this year.
