The Miami Heat will again leave the country for training camp.

The Heat announced Thursday that it will hold training camp in the Bahamas this year for the fourth time in franchise history.

The Heat will go through training camp at Baha Mar’s Convention, Arts and Entertainment Center for the second time in three years from Tuesday, Oct. 1 through Saturday, Oct. 5. The Heat will then return to Miami to take part in its annual Red, White & Pink Game intrasquad scrimmage on Monday, Oct. 7 at Kaseya Center before opening its five-game preseason schedule on Tuesday, Oct. 8 against the Charlotte Hornets in North Carolina.

Of the Baha Mar resort’s Convention, Arts and Entertainment Center, the Heat said in a press release that “the 200,000-square-foot indoor and outdoor convention facility features state-of-the-art courts for players, elevated seating experiences for viewers, and leading technology for film and broadcast training.”

The Heat previously held training camp in the Bahamas prior to the 2013-14 season (the final season of the Big 3 era) and once again before the 2016-17 season. Both of those camps were held at the Atlantis Paradise Island Resort.

The last time that the Heat traveled to the Bahamas for training camp was prior to the 2022-23 season and that camp was held at Baha Mar.

The Heat has also conducted training camp in Miami, West Palm Beach and Boca Raton in recent years. Before the first season of the Big 3 era (2010-2011), the Heat held training camp at Eglin Air Force Base in Fort Walton Beach.

The Heat will hold media day this year on Monday, Sept. 30 at Kaseya Center in Miami before taking the short flight to the Bahamas later that day for training camp.

The Heat will go through two-a-day practice at Baha Mar from Oct. 1-5 prior to wrapping up its stay in the Bahamas with a practice session open to invited guests on Oct. 6.

The Heat is coming off an early playoff exit after being eliminated by the eventual NBA champion Boston Celtics in the first round last season.

The Heat opens the upcoming regular season on Wednesday, Oct. 23 against the Orlando Magic at Kaseya Center.
