A 7-ELEVEN shopper recently made a life changing purchase at his local convenience store.

While most people go for road trip snacks or gas, the lucky man got $6 million.

A Michigan man, who chose to remain anonymous, won the prize off a scratch ticket he bought in the store.

He spent $50 on a “500X Money Maker” scratcher.

It paid off, as he won the top prize.

He shared how the win went down with the Michigan Lottery

    ‘ARE WE MILLIONAIRES?’

The man bought his ticket in Clinton Township, just north of Detroit.

He said he’s only an occasional ticket buyer, and that this ticket was only his second this year.

He bought the ticket based on his and his wife’s lucky number — 14.

“I scratched the ticket off and when I saw I won $6 million, I started hyperventilating,” he said. “I had to take the day off work because I was in a state of shock.”

He texted his wife simply: “Lucky number 14”

“She jokingly replied: ‘What do you mean? Are we millionaires?’” he said.

He confirmed the news when he arrived home.

Officials congratulated him on the win.

“Congratulations to the lucky player and his wife on an incredible $6 million win,” Suzanna Shkreli, the lottery commissioner said.. “Creating life-changing moments for our players is incredibly exciting and I hope this prize has a positive impact on this player and his family for many years to come.”

Ultimately, he took the prize as a lump sum of $4.1 million.

    LOTTO LUCK

After playing the lottery online for 6 years, another Michigan man finally won big.

However, taxes meant he quickly lost $48,000.

Taxes and lump sum claims can instantly cut down your prize.

A New Jersey player recently lost even more — splitting a prize with a stranger.

A Massachusetts resident won the lottery on their birthday.
