One of the east coast’s most creative bagel concepts is working hard towards establishing a New Jersey carbohydrate empire. The Bagel Nook, known for its truly unique approach to the titular carb, has several new locations planned, starting with a shop in Middletown, reports local media outlet Asbury Park Press .

The bakery will be opening 1868 Route 35 South this August. Owner Alex Berkowitz tells What Now Philadelphia that The Bagel Nook’s newest home matches the brand’s energy. He states: “We think that Middletown is a great town with new revamped shopping centers. There was a big sense of community we felt vibed with our unique fun & delicious brand.”

The Middletown The Bagel Nook will be operated by Limor and David Shekhter. This location will be the pair’s second shop; the two already run a storefront in Freehold.

Berkowitz explains that Middletown isn’t the only Garden State neighborhood that can look forward to enjoying The Bagel Nook’s delicious fare this year. “We have 3 other locations that we plan to open in NJ this year so you’ll have to stay tuned and follow our socials for all the new and exciting news!” he says.

Additionally, The Bagel Nook is still seeking franchisees for various spots. Berkowitz states “We still have incredible locations we are looking to open in.”

Future The Bagel Nook customers have plenty to look forward to. In addition to the overload bagels the concept is celebrated for, the chain has introduced several new menu items. Berkowitz describes the latest additions, saying: “We have our new and exciting lemonade line consisting of strawberry lemonade, blue raspberry lemonade, and original lemonade.  We also have our new frozen coffee drinks called the Nookuccino’s they come in Oreo birthday cake, caramel and M&M. We have new food items and even more frozen drink flavors coming out this summer!”
