Update: According to their Facebook post updated at 7:53 a.m., the Middletown Police’s 911 system is back in operation.

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Middletown Police has issued an urgent warning on social media that it is unable to receive 911 calls at this time.

The police advise that if you need police or fire assistance, call 513-727-3632. If that doesn’t connect, call Monroe Police at 513-539-9234 or the Ohio State Highway Patrol at #677. Those messages will then get relayed to Middletown.

While it may be unrelated, the posting just before 2 a.m. Friday coincides with the Microsoft outage that has impacted airlines and media nationwide .
