Vermont institutions affected by global IT outage
Vermont was among the states affected by a faulty update to Windows servers that wreaked havoc around the world Friday morning, disrupting hospitals, airlines and governments. At Patrick Leahy Burlington International Airport, early-morning flights were delayed for hours as United, American Airlines, and Delta repaired their systems. The airport’s own services, which run separately from airlines, were unaffected.

The Gaslight Tinkers on the Tavern Lawn
PUTNEY, Vt. – Twilight Music continues its 21st Twilight on the Tavern Lawn series of bluegrass, folk/rock, world beat, jazz, pop, and Zydeco summer concerts on Sunday, July 21, with roots and world music quintet The Gaslight Tinkers. The seven-concert series continues every other Sunday through Aug. 18. All concerts beginat 6 p.m., in downtown Putney, on the Putney Tavern lawn – bring a lawn chair or blanket – or at Next Stage, at 15 Kimball Hill, in case of rain. Republican Gov. Chris Sununu of New Hampshire has signed a bill that would ban transgender athletes in grades 5-12 from teams that align with their gender identity, adding the state to nearly half in the nation that adopted similar measures.The bill passed by the Republican-led Legislature would require schools to designate all teams as either girls, boys or coed, with eligibility determined based on students' birth certificates "or other evidence." Taste of Diamond Point features gourmet food, raffles, live music and community
Lobster rolls, NY Strip steak and shrimp served on skewers, shredded beef tacos with grilled peach and carrot slaw and hefty submarine sandwiches were among the selections at the 14th Annual Taste of Diamond Point held on Saturday, July 20.
