MONTGOMERY, Vt. — The love for Vermont native and Olympian Elle St. Pierre just keeps pouring in after her stellar performance at the recent Olympic Track & Field Trials. St. Pierre's performance in Eugene, Oregon was historic, and ended with St. Pierre taking first place in the women's 5,000 meter with a record time in the trials, along with a sub-four-minute time in the 1,500 meters.

2nd annual masonic Car Show set for July 13
The Masonic Seneca Lodge #40 is hosting its second annual Masonic Car Show from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 13. REVIEW: ‘Beauty Queen of Leenane’ stuns at Dorset Theatre Festival
It was a rainy drive up through the woods of Dorset Saturday afternoon to take in the Martin McDonagh minor modern classic “The Beauty Queen of Leenane” on Saturday afternoon. We had just made it to our seat when thunder clapped from the sound system (designed by Fitz Patton) and the sound and presence of rain dripping could be heard and seen outside the glorious ramshackle, claustrophobic set by Christopher and Justin Swader, lighting design by Mary Ellen Stebbins. Excellent work is also done by costume designer Fabian Fidel Aguilar.
Rescue founders saw community need
WILMINGTON - Deerfield Valley Rescue is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. The organization, which many locals simply refer to as “Rescue” was founded in 1974. The nonprofit organization provides “prehospital emergency medical care” to residents in the towns of Wilmington, Dover, Searsburg, Somerset, Whitingham, Halifax, and parts of Marlboro and Stratton. It is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Festival on the Green is coming up
Middlebury’s Festival on the Green begins this coming Sunday, July 7. The perennial weeklong event, run entirely by volunteers, this year will bring 14 different performing groups to the tent on the town green, offering up a wide variety of musical genres and styles, as well of something for the kids at the noontime Brown Bag lunch performances.
