    Jelly Roll stops Michigan concert to assist cancer survivor trying to get a seat

    Jelly Roll paused his show to lend a helping hand to a fan with cancer .

    The singer, born Jason DeFord, performed at the Tailgates N’ Tallboys country music festival in Midland, Michigan. During the Michigan show, he noticed a fan standing in the crowd with an IV drip attached to them.

    The moment was caught on camera and posted on TikTok. He stopped the show to acknowledge the dedicated fan. "I've seen a lot of crazy s--- at my shows. But this young lady is out here with a full-blown IV," the Save Me artist said.

    The young lady told the country musician she was a cancer survivor which Jelly Roll repeated to the audience. After asking her how many people were with her, he called out to his team to make accommodations for the fan: "Let's get her a chair."

    "Somebody on my team, let's get her somewhere more comfortable to watch the rest of the show. We'll get you off your feet, baby. Okay?” Jelly Roll continued.

    As the audience cheered, before the video ended, Jelly Roll said one more word: "Beautiful." Fans gushed over the the father-of-two's actions. One fan wrote: "Awww as a cancer survivor I LOvE this !! She had to be so weak but she’s there. I couldn’t have done it when I was in treatment." A second fan said: "We must protect this man at all costs. The world needs more of him." Another said: "Jelly Roll has the biggest heart."

    Last year, the Tennessee native fulfilled the wish of a 65-year-old woman with Stage 4 lung cancer called small cell carcinoma, who wanted to met him and watch him perform. She shared that wish through the James Bess Foundation and through a TikTok video on their channel. The organization works to grant the wishes of adults from 21 to 65 battling terminal illnesses.

    Jelly Roll's wife responded to the video posted in July 2023: "We can def make this happen." And they did, Jelly Roll and his wife set-up the meeting in Durham.

    "I’m glad I could come to visit you. This is cool, and Im glad you had some friends come too," he said during the meet-up "... Somebody who came out of the situation you came out of and turned her life around and immediately found purpose helping people who were in that same situation."
