MIDLAND, Texas (KMID/KPEJ) – 43-year-old Danny Glen Howl died on Friday, following a vehicle-pedestrian crash at the intersection of Dallas Street and Florida Avenue.

According to MPD, at around 5 p.m. on Friday, July 19, a 1994 Chevrolet 1500 was travelling east in the 300 block of East Florida Avenue when  “a vehicle pulled out in front of (the Chevrolet 1500) in the same lane of travel.” This forced the 19-year-old driver of the Chevrolet to make “an evasive maneuver into the outside lane to avoid collision.”

“There were two pedestrians crossing at the intersection of Dallas and Florida (southbound). One of the pedestrians was in the outside lane of travel the other in the inside lane of travel. (The Chevrolet 1500) after taking evasive action into the outside lane observed the first pedestrian and performed another evasive maneuver back into the inside lane striking the second pedestrian,” MPD said in a release.

MPD also said the pedestrian was taken to Midland Memorial Hospital by ambulance with serious bodily injury, later succumbing to his injuries.
