Fact or Fiction: KState title, Beck No. 1 and Klubnik breaking through

In today’s Fact or Fiction I look at three big recent topics in college football and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or if it’s FICTION .
1. Kansas State wins the Big 12.
Farrell’s take: FICTION
I have Utah winning the Big 12 but we’ve seen what happens if they have quarterback issues so it’s not a lock. Kansas State is going to be nasty with Avery Johnson at quarterback and they are well coached so I have them second and losing in the title game. The Big 12 is balanced so teams like Arizona, Kansas, Texas Tech and Oklahoma State have a chance as well but give me Utah.
2. Carson Beck is the best QB in the nation.
Farrell’s take: FICTION
This is a tough call. Beck has improved so much since his high school days it’s kind of astonishing but I’ll take Dillon Gabriel as he’s an amazing fit for the Ducks offense. If he stays healthy, the numbers could be astonishing and he’s a nice bet for the Heisman. Beck will miss Ladd McConkey and Brock Bowers quite a bit and while I think UGA wins it all, it will be a balanced offense as usual and his numbers could be less than expected.

People like to write off QBs and everyone seems to think Klubnik will never change. He needs to cut down on his interceptions and play more within the structure of the offense as he free lances too much, but that can come with maturity. I think Clemson has something to prove this season and Klubnik has a chip on his shoulder and a 30+ TD season with less than 10 picks is loading.
