El Paso drivers, am I right?

Would it surprise you if a new study concluded that El Paso has some of the worst drivers in the country? Because we do, according to Forbes Advisor who has the data to back that up.

In a new study ranking the worst cities in the nation to drive in, the financial website concluded that not only is the Sun City plagued with drivers who act like they’re in a ‘Fast and the Furious’ movie as well as other dangerous driving behavior, but so are five other cities in Texas.

    How Rankings Were Determined

To determine the top 25 "Cities With The Worst Drivers, Ranked" the researchers analyzed, evaluated and compared the 50 biggest cities in the United States across five key metrics: the rate of fatal car accidents per 100,000 residents, the number of fatal car accidents involving a drunk driver, the occurrence of fatal car accidents involving a distracted driver, the rate of fatal car accidents involving speeding per 100,000 residents, and the total number of fatalities resulting from such crashes.

The Sun City scored 66.52 out of 100 in the data crunch ranking El Paso drivers the 20th worst in the nation.

Our dangerous and distracted driving habits were most apparant in the categories of number of people killed in car wrecks, and fatal car accidents involving a drunk driver.

The five other Texas cities with dangerous drivers in the Top 25 are Dallas (#6), Fort Worth (9), San Antonio (12), Houston (23), and Austin (24).

Albuquerque, the largest city in our neighboring state of New Mexico, was deemed the most dangerous in America to drive in.
