Contrary to its advertising tagline, Planet Fitness is not always a judgement free zone. At least, not when gains come from other gym member’s lockers.

According to the El Paso, Texas County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called to the Planet Fitness location near Horizon City by a gym member who claimed some of her personal items had been stolen.

The victim told detectives that while she was working out, her locker had been broken into and several items from inside her purse had been snatched, including credit cards.

Detectives discovered the stolen credit cards had been used at a nearby Ross Dress for Less store. After comparing surveillance footage from inside the department store and the gym’s check-in desk they identified Ruth Angelica Barraza as the suspect.

It turns out, instead of taking a seemingly endless number of cringy arm flexing and booty popping selfies like the rest of us, Barraza – whom they dubbed “the Planet Fitness Thief” -- was allegedly using the gym to boost a different type of gains.

El Paso County Sheriff's Office detectives flexed their muscles and arrested her for looting lockers not just at that gym, but thefts at a total of five different Planet Fitness locations.

Despite facing at least three counts of credit card or debit card abuse and other unnamed charges, the Planet Fitness Pilferer still managed to smile for her mugshot.

No doubt pleased with herself for saying “yes for less.” Hey, who can resist the latest fashions at 20% to 60% off department store price?
