    Milaca High School announces nine new hall of fame inductees

    Milaca High School has recently announced a group of nine alumni to be inducted into its Milaca Hall of Fame. The induction ceremony is scheduled to take place Saturday, Oct. 12 starting with a social hour at 10 a.m., 10:30 a.m. brunch, and the ceremony to start at 11:15 a.m.

    Below are the nine inductees and a short brief about them.

    - Erin Schenk: Schenk graduated from Milaca High School in 1998. She works as an Assistant Professor of Medicine. Her laboratory studies the lung cancer tumor microenvironment and hopes to use their findings to improve therapy for patients with lung cancer.

    - Jacquelyn (Packard) Johnson: Johnson is a 1998 graduate of Milaca High School. Her career in management has evolved to include the Ryder Cup at Hazeltine National Golf Club, the 2019 Men’s Final Four, and the Super Bowl LII.

    - Jacob Voss: Voss graduated from Milaca High School in the Class of 2002. He is an Assistant Regulation Counsel / Trial Attorney with the Colorado State Supreme Court. His legal experience has spanned everything from criminal prosecutions, to defending the Aurora, Colorado movie theater after shooting, to prosecuting ethics cases against attorneys.

    - Jill (Hubers) Haspert: Haspert is a 2000 Milaca High School graduate. She is the CEO at Foxtrot Marketing Group and has worked in finance, accounting, business management and P&L leadership roles, leading marketing and innovation teams for numerous iconic brands.

    - Kristen Berland Riley: Riley graduated in 1982 from Milaca High School. She has worked with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) at Kennedy Space Center, Stennis Space Center, University of Florida, and she has now shifted careers from Space to Biotechnology.

    - Stephanie (Moe) Thiesen: Thiesen is a 1999 Milaca graduate. She is Chief Operating Officer of Leighton Broadcasting. She has been recognized for her roles in business leadership and mentorship throughout Central Minnesota.

    - Tom Brown: Brown graduated in the class of 1982 from Milaca High School. He has been very successful in his athletic career in high school, college, and beyond, playing in the NFL. He has also held numerous coaching positions. He is currently the Athletic Director of Gustavus Adolphus College.

    - Tom Sauer: Sauer became a part of the Milaca Community when he began his student teaching at Milaca High School in 1965, over the years, he has taught many different science classes to thousands of Milaca students. He has also volunteered for many local organizations after he settled into the town of Milaca where he and his wife raised their family and retired.

    - Troy Hoerner: Hoerner is a 1988 graduate of Milaca High School. Plan. He has played, interned, recorded pitches and scouted for the Minnesota Twins, Baltimore Orioles, Houston Astros, and San Diego Padres. He has signed Top Ten Prospects for each team he has scouted with: the Baltimore Orioles, Houston Astros, and San Diego Padres.
