Cuddle and Comfort event with Kings Harvest Pet Rescue
DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) - The Kings Harvest Pet Rescue Shelter will be hosting a Cuddle and Comfort event on Wednesday evening to soothe shelter pets. The shelter says they are hosting the event to raise awareness that some pets are afraid of fireworks and tend to get lost. Pets get lost more around 4th of July than any other time of the year.

DAVENPORT, Iowa — Update 9:15 p.m.: A MidAmerican spokesperson said two callers reported a lightning strike at a pole near 28th and State in Bettendorf. That outage is affecting around 970 customers since 7:42 p.m. Crews are actively making repairs but the energy company did not have an estimated time of restoration.

Undocumented Illinois residents can now get standard driver's licenses
Under provisions of a new law, undocumented residents in Illinois are now eligible to receive four-year driver’s licenses. According to HB 3882, which went into effect July 1, those residents can now receive standard licenses and identification cards instead of the previously issued Temporary Visitor’s Driver’s License.
