Police have charged a third suspect in connection with a burglary in Milford where several suspects stole an ATM from a gas station in January, causing thousands of dollars worth of damage.

Steve Irizarry, 31, of New Britain was charged Monday with third-degree burglary, conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary, first-degree criminal mischief, conspiracy to commit first-degree criminal mischief, fifth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit fifth-degree larceny, according to the Milford Police Department .

He posted $135,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Milford Superior Court on Aug. 13.

According to police, the charges stem from a burglary reported on Jan. 30 at Galaxy Fuel, located at 180 New Haven Ave. Officers who responded found that the front door of the business was ripped off and the glass was broken.

Police said investigators learned that a vehicle pulled in front of the business just before 3 a.m. before three males wearing masks and gloves got out and pried the door open. They then entered the building and stole an ATM using a cable.

The ATM was valued at $3,000.

Police said the total damage caused during the burglary was about $6,000.

Milford detectives assumed the investigation and identified all three suspects. Police said Irizarry was the third and final suspect to be charged.

The identity of the other two suspects was not immediately clear.
