MILFORD — The city’s menu of diverse foods grew Monday, with the opening of Chaiyo Sushi & Thai Cuisine.

The state’s third location — there are two in Dover — is now serving in the Airpark Plaza on North Dupont Highway, across from Wawa.

Brandy Lorea and Sarah Ekpradit own the restaurants and were ready to expand outside of the capital city.

“We’ve had a lot of requests to come here to Milford,” Ms. Lorea said. “A lot of the community was like, ‘When are you going to come south?’ and we had a great opportunity with a great landlord.”

If opening day was any indication, diners are eager for Chaiyo’s selections.

“It’s been very good,” Ms. Lorea said. “We have gotten really good feedback and had a packed house most of the day.”

The owners said they enjoy the community interaction and are ready to meet new visitors.

“(Ms. Ekpradit) has a great reputation with the customers and a great rapport,” Ms. Lorea said. “Customers love her.”

Each one is sure to find food to enjoy, she added.

“They can accept authentic Thai food, fresh sushi with a variety of cooked and noncooked rolls, and noodle dishes. There is something here for everyone,” Ms. Lorea said. “We are excited to be a part of a community that (did) not have any Thai food.”

Chaiyo is open Mondays through Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 4:30-9 p.m. On Fridays and Saturdays, it serves from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 4:30-9:30 p.m.
