Hoopeston Woman Remembered for Love of Animals, Dedication as McDonald’s Manager
HOOPESTON — Animal lover Sara Rhodes was doing what was her passion when she died in an accident on Wednesday in rural Milford. Rhodes, 64, was known locally as the manager of the Hoopeston McDonald’s restaurant, which she’s been for about 24 years, but also as being an animal rescuer.
Hoopeston Woman Killed in Two-Vehicle Accident
MILFORD — A 64-year-old Hoopeston woman was killed in a two-vehicle accident in rural Milford on Wednesday. The Iroquois County Sheriff’s Department said Sara Rhodes was killed in a collision at the intersection of County Road 2000 East and 1000 North. She was driving a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica around 4:55 p.m. and, for unknown reasons, did not stop at the marked intersection, striking a semi tractor-trailer.
