Baltimore Bike Birds: Fans forming flock to ride together to Orioles games
Baltimore is known for many things, two among them being a fierce loyalty to its beloved Orioles and a vibrant biking community. What happens when they intersect?. Noah Shumway and Rory Nealon see great potential in creating a group of bike riders of all abilities getting together before the Orioles play and riding to Camden Yards together for the game. The two are in the early stages of planning, but they have already done a test ride, are looking at groups in other cities doing something similar, and putting feelers out in the Baltimore biking community.
DL White Commits To Terps
Spalding (Severn, Md.) defensive tackle Delmar White attended a Maryland one-day camp in June in hopes of grabbing the Terps’ staff’s attention. UMD has signed at least one recruit based purely off summer-camp performances each year during head coach Mike Locksley’s tenure, so landing an offer was hardly a farfetched possibility.
Rangers Lose To Orioles In Series Opener
The Rangers lost their series opener against the Orioles. Texas fell to Baltimore 11-2 at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. Adolis Garcia hit his 15th home run of the season on a solo shot in the fourth inning. Nathaniel Lowe also drove-in a run in the setback. Starting pitcher Jon Gray was tagged with the loss and dropped to 3-and-4 after letting up eight runs through five innings. The Rangers have lost four in-a-row to sit at 37-and-44. They visit the Orioles again tonight. Right-hander Max Scherzer will start opposite Baltimore righty Albert Suarez.

Maryland’s commitment spree continued June 29 when local JACK Sidney Stewart (Concordia Prep/Towson, Md.) opted for the hometown school over West Virginia, Indiana and Virginia Tech. The 6-foot-2, 250-pound three-star officially visited College Park, Md., in late June, let on that he wanted in at headman Mike Locksley’s program, and then went public a week later.
