    Sunday's local roundup, results: Fritze drives in eight to fuel Tatnuck sweep

    Tatnuck 10, Millbury 3; Tatnuck 13, Millbury 5: Joey Fritze had three hits and drove in eight runs on the day as Tatnuck (12-3) swept Millbury (2-13) at Quinsigamond CC.

    Fritze singled twice and drove in four runs, Dylan McDonald singled twice and drove in a pair and Chris Palermo drove in a pair as Tatnuck scored five runs in the third and five more in the sixth to top Millbury in the first game.

    Sam Conrad singled, doubled and drove in four and Fritze doubled and drove in four to lift Tatnuck in the second game. Ethan Divito singled, doubled and drove in a run for Tatnuck.

    Ethan Ikeda and Jimmer Donnelly each drove in runs for Millbury in the opener. Chris Havalotti, Stephen Wiltshire (double) and Matt Ramsdell all had two hits and drove in a run for the Merchants in the second game, while Cole Guilford also had two hits.

    Douglas 6, South Side 3; Douglas 16, South Side 1: Gavin Metcalf was 3 for 4 with a double and three RBIs, while Colin Bradford and Peter Lavache (double) each had two hits and drove in two runs as host Douglas (11-4) downed South Side in five innings in the second game of a doubleheader sweep.

    Ethan Vasser also drove in two runs four Douglas.

    Jackson Allcock had two hits and Noah Parotta drove in a pair, while John Desmond struck out six in four innings to lift Douglas in the opener.

    South Side's Cody McDonald doubled and drove in a run in the opener and teammate Zachary Bracconier doubled in the nightcap.

    Sturbridge 6, Shrewsbury 5; Shrewsbury 11, Sturbridge 3: Austin Dono singled in two runs, while Caden Green, Pete Casine (2 for 3) and Mason Diosomito (2 for 3) all singled to center to drive in runs to spark a five-run rally in the fifth and send host Sturbridge past Shrewsbury in the first game of a doubleheader split at Tivnan Field.

    Kieren Ghidella had three singles and drove in three runs for Shrewsbury in the opener..

    Shrewsbury rallied in the nightcap, taking a 10-2 lead over the first six innings to earn a split. Jake Pettepit singled and tripled while Brendan Biando and Ghidella each drove in two.

    J.J. Baillargeon and Green each drove in runs for Sturbridge in the second game.

    American Legion

    Hudson 11, Cherry Valley 1: Ryan Dillon was 3 for 3 with a double and RBI, while Ryan Graf went the distance, not allowing an earned run and striking out two to send visiting Post 100 past Post 443.

    Hudson's Chase Donahue (3 RBIs) and Marshall Kehlem (3 stolen bases) each had two hits.

    Michael Direnzo singled in a run for Cherry Valley

    Futures Collegiate League

    Bravehearts 13, Brockton 3: Owen Pincince and Kevin Matos each hit three-run homers to power the host Bravehearts (16-13) past the Rox (10-18) in a seven-inning mercy rule game.

    Pincince was 4 for 5 with four runs and three RBIs, while Matos also singled, walked and drove in four to lead the 10-hit attack. Shea Grady also singled and doubled for Worcester. Jordan Gottesman picked up the win after fanning seven over five innings, allowing one run on five hits and a walk.
