The City of Washington Court House recently welcomed The Pearl, located at 420 E. Court St., with a new business plaque. The Pearl offers an array of beauty services including cuts, colors, extensions, lash extensions and waxing. Jim Blankenship named Mt. Sterling parade grand marshal
The Mount Sterling Chamber of Commerce has chosen Jim Blankenship as grand marshal for Mount Sterling’s Independence Day parade which steps off at 10 a.m. on July 4. Born in eastern Kentucky, Blankenship moved to Mount Sterling, Ohio, when he was 7 years old. He graduated from The Plain High School in 1965, then served in the U.S. Air Force. He founded Antioch Freewill Baptist Church in 1979 and has served as the church’s pastor ever since.
Mount Sterling Chamber hosting Independence Day parade
The Mount Sterling Chamber of Commerce is hosting a parade on July 4. Lineup starts at 9 a.m. at the Mount Sterling Community Center, 164 E. Main St. The parade steps off at 10. From the Community Center, the parade route goes right on Main Street, left on Clevenger Avenue, left on Columbus Street, left onto London Street, right on Houston Street, right on High Street, then left back into the Community Center.

Joe Knueven, director of the Wilmington Public Library, recently spoke at a Wilmington Rotary Club meeting. Knueven said he was born and raised in Cincinnati and he received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Cincinnati and master’s degree of library science from Indiana University. Also, he has worked 25 years in library positions and came to Wilmington in 2018.
