Three people dead after crash on I-86 in Chemung
CHEMUNG, N.Y. (WENY) --Three people were killed in a deadly crash on Interstate 86 in Chemung, N.Y. on Friday. According to New York State Police, a 36-year-old man driving west in a 2018 Nissan Maxima crossed over the grass median, and into the eastbound lane of traffic, hitting a 2015 Acura RDX. Police say the Acura was driven by an 18-year-old man, with a 44-year-old female passenger.

An Elmira man has been arrested after he allegedly broke into the JCPenney store in Big Flats. According to the Chemung County Sheriff’s Office, 61-year-old Eric J. Williams allegedly used a large rock to break through the glass doors of the store and sustained a cut on his arm during the incident.

A push to ban smoking inside Pennsylvania casinos is underway in Harrisburg. Democrat State Representative Dan Frankel joined some Pittsburgh casino workers for a rally on the North Shore yesterday as they advocate in favor of an amendment to the state’s Clean Indoor Air Act to end tobacco use at their jobs. Frankel is a co-sponsor of the amendment, saying it is meant to close loopholes in the 2008 law. Rivers Casino currently has designated smoking and non-smoking sections on the gaming floor, while restaurants and some other areas are smoke-free.
