Ottawa: OSF Postpones Next State Hearing on Regional Plan
According to Commissioner Tom Ganiere at Tuesday night's Ottawa City Council meeting, OSF has postponed the hearing about the Ottawa St. Elizabeth plan in front of the Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board. Previously the Board was to hear the OSF plan on August 8. Ganiere believes this shows that OSF is willing to further its discussions with various agencies regarding the new hospital and the services that will be available in Ottawa.
Bristol Kendall Fire Protection District assist in Yorkville water rescue
The Bristol Kendall Fire Protection District reports that a child is safe after they were reported missing in the Fox River near Hydraulic Ave in Yorkville Tuesday morning. Dispatch reported a child was on a tube in the river and went missing at approximately 10:52. A Chief Officer with the BKFPD was on scene within a minute and met with a bystander who reported the child was out of the water and safe. The child was confirmed to be out of the water and was checked out by paramedics.
Good News: I-55 Is Open Between Channahon and Wilmington
Good news for motorists and commerce. Interstate 55 is now open between Channahon and Wilmington. The expressway was shut down Monday night following severe weather. High tension power lines were snapped and fell onto the expressway and on top of a at least one semi-trailer. Illinois State Police and ComEd have been working to clear I-55 of debris, trucks and power lines.

Thankfully, electricity is back on for most of Coal City as ComEd crews worked non-stop to repair a major power line that fell onto Interstate 55 around 9:30 p.m. Monday. Homeowners north of Division Street got their power back shortly after 6 a.m. Wednesday. By 1 p.m., 120 of 2,720 customers had their power back on.
