Nine Spartans Named to College Stunt Coaches Association Honor Roll
ST. LOUIS – Missouri Baptist University had nine student-athletes named to the College STUNT Coaches Association (CSCA) Honor Roll. Nominated athletes have a cumulative GPA above 3.50 and have completed a minimum of 24 credits/units at their current STUNT institution. Ciara Mallqui-Thomas, Kylie Lamb, and Grace Ketterer added the CSCA Honor Roll to go with their CSCA All-America selections announced in May. Aaliyah Foster, Alanah Williams, Isabel Huenink, Jordan Tinker, Maddie Kandlbinder, and Olivia Topping all made the honor roll as well after posting GPAs north of 3.50. Leeward Renewable Energy Brings Clean Energy Jobs To Illinois
Leeward Renewable Energy’s GSG Wind Project built 26 new turbines and recycled 100% of decommissioned wind turbines, adding numerous clean energy jobs in Illinois. The GSG Wind project, which stretches across 3,000 acres near West Brooklyn, Illinois, became commercially operational in 2007. Illinois Representative Darin LaHood recently visited the site to meet with local farmers and discuss the economic benefits of clean wind power.

MOWIT volunteers lend hand at Baker transitional house for women
St. Louis – Volunteers with Missouri Women in Trades (MOWIT) helped demo and rebuild a plumbing stack at one of the Baker House’s transitional homes for women on June 29 and 30. A group of female Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 562 members led the project. The house, located in south St. Louis City, is owned by Keyway Center for Diversion and Reentry, which provides housing and wrap-around services for women reentering the St. Louis community from jail or prison.
