Best Little Race in the State set July 28 in Millsboro
Known as the Best Little Race in the State, the 41st annual Dam Mill 5K will be the ninth race of the Seashore Striders Summer Racing Series. It be held at Cupola Park in Millsboro beginning at 7:30 a.m., Sunday, July 28. This year’s highlights include having a new course with only one major turn in the race, a water spray both ways at the half-mile and two-and-a-half-mile marks, cool sleeveless T-shirts, large 4-inch age group medals, post-race celebration featuring Dairy Queen, and the popular Dam Mill Hall of Fame induction. Proceeds will benefit the Millsboro Fire Department, and it does not get any better than that.

A rising seventh-grader at Fred Thomas Middle School, this Lewes Major League all-star delivered for his team in the District 3 Tournament last week, batting .455 by going 5-for-11 at the plate with two doubles and three RBIs. He knocked in the winning run in extra innings against Milton in the final winner-take-all game to propel Lewes into the state tournament. "Jacoby is an awesome kid," said Lewes manager Jerry Windish. "He always has a smile on his face and does whatever the coaches ask him to do. He is filled with super positive energy."
