Creating Unity Through Art in Penn Yan
I am a proud Keuka College alumnus and one amazing impact I watched my peers make was the new Penn Yan Mural in downtown Penn Yan. This was a collaborative project over the course of twelve months that included brainstorming, designing, painting and installation. Between two Alumni, two faculty advisors, eight design students and the support of the Village of Penn Yan, this team worked together to create a vibrant and lasting impact on Penn Yan.

Bassette Family Opened New Tasting Room At Their Airy Acres Vineyard
The Bassette family at Airy Acres Vineyard is thrilled to announce that they are opening their brand-new tasting room!. Airy Acres Vineyard is owned by former Honeoye Falls residents Fred and Pam Bassette and their children, Danny, Adele, Josh and Noah. The four Bassette children graduated from Honeoye Falls-Lima High School. Fred and Pam Bassette inherited the family land in Interlaken in 2014, and the family started growing vines in 2015 and they moved to Interlaken in 2016. The family invited everyone to come visit them for the Grand Opening on July 20th at the vineyard as they opened the new tasting room in the Bassette children’s grandmother’s renovated farmhouse. The family farmhouse has undergone extensive renovations for over a year and is now ready to host tastings and events for all.

Spotted Lanternfly Invasion Looms Over Lake Erie Grape Region: What You Need to Know
(WNY News Now) – The Lake Erie Regional Grape Program, Cornell Cooperative Extension, New York State Integrated Pest Management, and Penn State Extension have been working together with the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture and New York Department of Agriculture and Markets to educate grape growers, processors, and community members about Spotted Lanternfly for about a decade. This invasive pest originally made its way to southeast Pennsylvania from China in 2014. It was found in New York State in 2020 on Staten Island, Ithaca, the Hudson Valley and even Syracuse. In 2022 an established population was found in Buffalo, NY, last year Spotted Lanternfly plagued Pittsburgh PA in large numbers, and now it has been found in the Finger Lakes Region – specifically Romulus, NY.
