Florida Highway Patrol arrested the 65-year-old driver of the van that went airborne and fatally ejected a 67-year-old woman on Monday.

In a release sent less than 24 hours after the woman's death, FHP said Milton woman Deborah Fiss was "observed to be under the influence of drugs" and charged with DUI manslaughter.

Fiss was the driver of a Honda Odyssey traveling down State Road 87 near State Road 89 with two passengers, according to FHP.

The van traveled off the roadway, hit garbage cans and drove straight toward an embankment.

"The van became airborne, collided with the ground and rolled over," FHP said. "The driver and rear passenger were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries."

Fiss is held in Santa Rosa County Jail without bond.
