New Marshall Simonds Principal Values Belonging, Sense of Team
There’s a new school administrator in town, and he’s ready to hit the ground running. Tim McMahon took the reins from six-year Marshall Simonds Middle School principal, Cari Perchase, following her departure to another district this July. A Burlington resident and educator of 22 years, Tim comes to Marshall Simonds with experience as a middle and high school teacher and, most recently, principal of North Middlesex Regional High School.
Hingham Public Schools Offers Meals at No Cost for All Students
Hingham Public Schools participatesin the National School Lunch Program and the School Breakfast Program. As part of this program, Hingham Public Schools offers healthy meals every school day. The Commonwealth is supplementing National School Lunch Program funds to ensure all students have access to healthy school meals in Massachusetts, regardless of household income. We ask that families complete a Meal Benefit Application as this provides data for school funding and community resources. The results from each Meal Benefit Application are used to ensure sustainability for this program.
Abington HS names Bruce Fleming II its new Head Coach
Abington High out of District 1 has named Bruce Fleming Jr its new football head coach. Bruce is no stranger to District 1 as he is the former Wissahickon High head coach where he lead their program for 3 seasons (2019-2021). Most recently Bruce served as the assistant coach and defensive coordinator for Chestnut Hill College which plays sprint football. Other previous coaching stops include Ursinus College, Prep Charter and assistant roles within the Wissahickon program.
Boston College files to build new archive for Catholic religious objects
Boston College has filed plans with the Boston Planning Department to build a three-story, roughly 45,000-square-foot building to store collections of religious stuff "as well as limited artwork and cultural artifacts" on a hillside between its Theology and Ministry Library and its St. John's Seminary property off Lake Street in Brighton.

Erica Johnson is appointed adjunct instructor of organ for the Master of Sacred Music program of Boston University School of Theology, Boston, Massachusetts. A church musician and performer, she has taught at Wellesley College, Wellesley, Massachusetts, since 2019.
