Exploring The Rhinebeck Community Garden
There is a little oasis, just off of W. Market Street, down the hill a ways from Starr Library and across from the Town Pool, that is the Rhinebeck Community Garden. You might have missed it tucked away there, but this collective effort has been blossoming for the past 15 years. As you enter the gate your eyes are drawn to an enchanted archway covered in a riot of purple clematis right in the center of the garden. Then as you continue walking you find an eclectic mix of flowers and edibles, some growing wild and others in neat rows of carefully tended plots. Each plot is as unique as the personality of the individual who cares for it. Some have signs proudly announcing the gardener’s name, while others display charming adornments.
