WASHINGTON – Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Walz will speak at LaborFest in Milwaukee on Monday to celebrate Labor Day — his third stop in Wisconsin since becoming Vice President Kamala Harris' running mate.

Walz will be joined by his wife, Minnesota first lady Gwen Walz, at the Milwaukee Area Labor Council's event, the Harris campaign said Friday. The campaign earlier this week said the Walzes would be in Milwaukee but on Friday confirmed the stop at LaborFest 2024. Walz is expected to deliver remarks around 2 p.m. CT.

"As part of the most pro-union administration in history, Vice President Harris has created millions of good-paying jobs," the campaign said in announcing the visit. "Governor Walz, a former union member himself, passed the most pro-worker package of laws in Minnesota’s history — making it easier to form unions, strengthening worker protections, cracking down on union-busting, and giving workers paid leave."

Democratic U.S. Sen. Tammy Baldwin will appear alongside the Walzes at the event, Baldwin's campaign told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel on Friday.

President Joe Biden spoke at Milwaukee's Laborfest in 2022 .

The visit will be Walz's third to Wisconsin since Harris selected Walz as her running mate in early August. The pair rallied in Eau Claire shortly after and rallied about 18,000 in Fiserv Forum on the second day of the Democratic National Convention in Chicago.

Both former President Donald Trump and his running mate, Ohio Republican U.S. Sen. JD Vance, made stops in Wisconsin ahead of the holiday weekend. Vance appeared in De Pere on Wednesday, and Trump held a town hall in La Crosse on Thursday evening.

As the Walzes arrive in Milwaukee on Labor Day, Harris will travel to Detroit, Michigan, and appear with Biden in Philadelphia. Second gentleman Doug Emhoff will appear at a Labor Day event in Newport News, Virginia. Walz is scheduled to meet with local labor leaders in Minnesota Monday morning before traveling to Wisconsin.
